We reluctantly departed from Hvar Island today, and i am currently back in Split waiting for an overnight ferry to Ancona, Italy. Enjoy some pictures...
Most of the rowdy gang of the Green Lizard Hostel. Pulling into the Tree Fort Bar. The collapsed white umbrellas off the the right is the bar. Bala being a monkey, Shane enjoying his drinks, and the Sophies chillin. Life is tough.
Looks like you are having a BLAST (to be expected!!!) I really enjoyed the 41 new tagged photos. I even managed to view all of them at work (... this actually isn’t that large of a feat as no one actually cares what I do as long as I produce the research... which for the most part I do.) I was impressed by the large representation of McGill/Rowing (in some cases McGill Rowing) in your t-shirt/sweater collection. Representing your roots... I’m seriously considering pooling my life savings (approx. 10 CDN dollars) and my credit (or more specifically my mother’s credit) and buying myself a plane ticket to come meet you... thoughts?
Update on Life in Toronto (briefly or not so briefly... writing this I am discovering is a fantastically great waste of time) a. Work. Good. As it can be. I suppose. One of the fellows (graduate medical student..) who’s helping me with my study is drop-dead gorgeous, also pushing 30.. so let’s be serious. (I have discovered he’s single though. Through gossip. There are a lot of female staff at the hospital). David (student I work with) and I are trying to arrange a Michael Scott inspired prank on some of the other (somewhat LAME) students that appear occasionally in health records. We have a couple solid ideas. I’ll keep you posted. b. I’m rowing in a lightweight eight and lwt U23 double. We had our first 2 regattas this past weekend. Went well. I have possibly the UGLIEST uni-suit in the history of spandex. Horizontal stripes and skin tight material should never be combined. I love sculling. Some of the girls in the eight are highly intense, and also in their late twenties and early thirties. They easily pull 30 seconds faster than me on the erg... but most of them have given birth (pain is relative right?) We have a pretty awesome French (like France French) coach. The head coach, Kerry doubles as a children’s novelist and writer of self-proclaimed “bawdy” poetry (in case this is beyond the scope of your vocabulary it means “dirty”). Debatably sketchy. c. Every spare moment of my life is spent studying for my MCAT. I don’t have enough spare moments... it’ll all be over soon though. I’m going to my cottage this weekend and raging. No MCAT, no rowing and certainly no work (obviously it’s a weekend). MISS YOU! Keep posting pictures and blogging. Keeps me (and other students) entertained. Jen “ny”
